Be the Blaze 2026: What is planned for this year

Hello, everyone, welcome to Be the Blaze! This is the first post under this blog name, and I'm so excited! This year is going to be amazing and I can't wait to share it with you!

To begin with, I have a new writing schedule for 2026.

Writing Schedule for 2026

Instead of posting once a week (four to five times a month) like I did most of 2025, I'm going to be posting three times a month. These posts will include two normal posts (Real Stories, Devotions, or Fictional Tales) and one short devo (I'm going to continue with the World Changing Women devotional I wrote).

Also, these posts will be live on Wednesdays, not Thursdays.

Engage

This year, I'm hoping it will be easier for my audience (you!) to engage in Be the Blaze. To make it easier, I've started two different topics, Pray (a section on my blog) and Real Stories (a topic of blog posts).

I encourage you to fill out my prayer form. Don't be shy! Remember, it doesn't have to be something personal, and there is an anonymous option. What will happen if you fill out this form? I will read every response and pray for these daily. Your prayer will then be put on the prayer "wall" where others can see it and pray for you as well.

As for the Real Stories, you can fill out that form as well. The layout of this kind of post will be your story (in your own words), then I will write a devotion about this certain question, struggle, or moment when you really felt God working, based on your little story.

Some New Sections

I'm starting some new sections: Spark and (possibly) an interview section.

Spark is simply my song suggestions and book suggestions for you.

These interviews will be a topic of blog posts where I ask different people (young writers, real girls like you, etc..) questions about them and their faith life. This is not completely developed, but hopefully you will see this come alive this year.

Starting 2026 with Good Habits

I was reading my Bible yesterday and came across this verse: "Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." (Psalm 5:2-3 NLT)

It is interesting how this verse talks about the morning. The author is telling us to pray not in the afternoon or evening, but the morning. Of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't pray during these times, but it got me thinking. The morning would be the best time to read the Bible, pray, or spend time with God. Think about it: In the afternoon you're usually busy, at school, visiting, or work. In the evening, your head is full of what has happened in the day and personally, I find it hard to focus when my head is already full. That leaves the morning. I strongly suggest you leave part of the morning open to read your Bible, pray, or focus on God. I've been doing all my Bible reading in the morning lately and I find it prepares me for the day ahead. You may have to sacrifice that extra ten minutes of sleep, reading time, or anything else to be in the Word. Make time for the Bible. Wake up earlier. Shift some things you do in the mornings, to the evenings.

Make it happen.

Your Bible is waiting.
